Posted May 20th, 2018

Glenn and Randy sit down with Chris Matheson, author of “The Story of God: A Biblical Story of Love (and Hate)” and its follow-up “The Trouble with God: A Divine Comedy about Judgment (and Misjudgment).  In this episode, we discuss his general interest in religion, his career in film starting as co-creator of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, and the comedy gold he first found in the Bible for “The Story with God” and The Book of Mormon for his newest book, “The Trouble with God.”

Huge fan of Bill and Ted and Chris Matheson. Thanks for this episode!!! It was great. I grew up watching both Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey. I loved both but I’m one of those that liked Bogus Journey even more. It’s super quirky and great. Station!!!

When they played Matheson’s reading of his book, sometimes I almost felt like Keanu Reeves was talking. He was either a great match for the movies, or really absorbed from the role, or both.

  • Great discussion. This coupled with what Christian and Bryan had to say in their Listener Essays really highlights how little sense there is to be made of religion on close examination. SO much style, culture and content must be skipped over or ignored for it to be the least bit believable. Can’t wait for Part 2.
